The Foundation
Why have we established the St Albans School Foundation?
The St Albans School Foundation has been set up to provide long-term, sustainable support for the School in realising its long-term vision and enhancing its reputation. The Foundation will provide excellent communications between all sections of the School, Old Albanians, and the extended St Albans family, and cultivate goodwill and support for the many facets of School life. Specifically, it will encourage and re-invigorate the tradition of benefaction that has played an important role in St Albans' success in the past and will be central to its development in future years.
The Foundation is not a separate entity, but a restricted fund within the corporate body of St Albans School. This arrangement means that on the one hand, the Governors are fully in control of the Foundation, whilst on the other, donors can be confident that their gifts will be applied to the purposes for which they are given and not subsumed into general School finances.

The Need for Funds
The School is financially sound and well managed. Pupil numbers and future registrations are strong. The charts below show the distribution of the School's income and expenditure, which includes a significant element of capital spending. However the major projects which are essential for the
School in the coming years cannot be paid for by surplus fee income alone, and we will be dependent on the support of the wider School community to achieve these goals.
Income: 2008-2009
